Sunset We love you!

Saturday, July 31, 2010Sunset Beach.

We have now been living in Hawaii for 3 months. It has been quite an adventure for all of us. It took everything we had in us to get here and now we seem to be more settled.
One of the greatest parts of living in Hawaii is of course the beach. This is a huge blessing for our family to experience and enjoy. On top of that the weather here is remarkable. For me it is my dream weather. Not too hot, not too cold. It rains like a misty sprinkle parts of the day and then is sunny and warm with a light breeze. It's beautiful. Although like every place it has it's ups and
downs. The biggest down would have to be the expense hands down. The second down to living in Hawaii is well the expense! Haha. Okay so that's the only down to living here and maybe third would be the mosquitoes. I always have mosquito bites. Bummer. But we do live in a valley, the rest of the island isn't so bad. Okay now on to the real second downfall it would have to be deciding what beach to go to!?!
We have been to quite a few beaches some more than once, twice or even three times. Certainly we have not been here long enough to discover them all.
I will post individually our experiences at the different locations but for now this is just a peek into living life in Hawaii.

A tour of some of the beaches we have been to.

Haleiwa Beach.
Tysho experiencing his very first time seeing the ocean and walking along the beach.

Sunset Beach.
Our first experience as a family going boogie boarding. The kids loved it.

Ko'Olina Beach Lagoons.

Tysho trying snorkeling for the first time. His Uncle Dallas took him out on a boogie board to go check out the fishes.

Tysho and Lincoln with their cousin Sariah at Ko'Olina.

Sunset Beach.
MaeLee enjoying the evening ocean breeze.

Turtle Beach. The first beach we all went to with our family and the entire Gilmore Family.

Shark's Cove. The second beach we all went to and actually swam in with our family and the Gilmore crew.

Watching the sunset at Shark's Cove.

Sunset Beach. MaeLee and I enjoying the waves.

Waimanalo Beach. Gorgeous. The color of the water was unbelievable blues, and turquoises.

Sunset Beach.
Are you starting to see a pattern?

We have had many great experiences at these beaches so far: Kualoa Beach, Sharks Cove, Ko'Olina Lagoons, Waimanalo Beach, Turtle Beach, Haleiwa Beach, Ewa Beach and finally Sunset Beach.

This past Saturday July 31st we took Tysho to get his school shoes and finished getting his supplies for school. Afterwards we took the kids for a much needed R&R to Ewa Beach. We haven't been there before and wanted to try out a new beach.
After we ate our picnic lunch on the beach Rocky took Lincoln and Tysho into the water. I sat on the sidelines with MaeLee laughing at them. The waves were too high for the kids and there were too many rocks underneath the shallow water. They spent about 10 minutes total in the water before the kids were crying to go to "Sunset Beach"!
Even though we were on the South-West part of the island and Sunset Beach is on the North shore we loaded them up along with all our beach paraphernalia and set out to enjoy our favorite beach so far...Sunset Beach.
When we got there around 4:30 pm. It was still perfect timing to enjoy our kids most favorite beach.
Sunset we will not stray again.
Well maybe just a little,...You know Sunset there are alot of other fishes in the sea... but you will always be our favorite...well for now. Until the kids get older and can handle bigger waves. I mean this is a big island you know with alot of beaches. But Sunset you are one hot beach with some killer long lengths of sand.
Okay Sunset here it is...You're wonderful and we love you, but I'm not making any promises. But for now We Love you Sunset Beach!
XOXO.
